The District of Vlorė (Albanian: Rrethi i Vlorės) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 147,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 1,609 km2. It is in the south-west of the country, and its capital is Vlorė. Other places in this district include Himarė, Orikum , Dhėrmi , Cold Water , Palase , Kocul, and Selenicė . Vlorė is the closest point of the Albanian coast to the Italian peninsula. Vlora has a very beautiful coastline.
