Golghar is located in Patna, capital city of Bihar, India. It was constructed by Captain John Garstin in the year 1770 and served as a large granary for for the British army in 1786. At that time India was under the British Raj. Golghar is a massive structure rising to a height of 29 meters and the walls are 3.6 m wide at the base. One can climb atop the Golghar through the winding stairway around this monument. The top of the Golghar presents a wonderful panoramic view of the city and the Ganga flowing nearby.
